PASQUALINA

Descrizione

Pasqualina is a patisserie, ice cream parlour and coffee shop in via Borfuro in Lower Bergamo, it’s a little hidden from the centre but this doesn’t discourage its customers, attracted by the fresh products available every day. The owner is Riccardo Schiavi, who opened the Bergamo shop in 2007 using the space of a historic printing house and subsequently opened other shops in Milan and Porto Cervo, but the beating heart of the business is in Almenno San Bartolomeo in the province of Bergamo, where the historic café, dating back to 1912, is home to the workshop that daily roasts the coffee, makes the ice cream and bakes the croissants.

The shop is open from 8:00 in the morning for breakfast, serves lunch with table service and offers snacks in the afternoon, until aperitif time. Here you can find ice cream, chocolate, coffee and pastries, but the most requested product – especially at breakfast time – is a chocolate cake made with panettone dough.

Riccardo Schiavi is very attentive to food and the choice of raw materials used in production, and this continuous research has led him to receive a prestigious award from Gambero Rosso: Best Bar in Italy 2016.

Riccardo has patented, receiving inspiration from an egg carton, an ice cream container that reserves a space for every flavour. It has been a very successful innovation as it protects customers who suffer from allergies and intolerances but who don’t want to sacrifice their favourite flavours.
