This year, the biggest international competition dedicated to the world’s best cheeses will be held in Bergamo.

 

The World Cheese Awards, like the Cheese Oscars, with be held for the first time in Italy, guests of the Bergamo Trade Fair from 18th to 20th October.

 

The first day is dedicated to the actual competition and therefore reserved for professionals, then there are two days open to the public with the "Cheese Tour": a trade show with tastings accompanied by ONAF experts, food and wine stands, information stands and many products paired with perfect matching cheeses: preserves, honey, beers, wine etc.

 

The numbers at the 2018 awards:

  • 3472 cheeses from 41 different countries
  • Over 2500 producing companies
  • Jury of 230 international experts
  • An audience of around 6000 specialists and enthusiasts from all over the world

 

Organised by The Guild of Fine Food, the World Cheese Awards, for over 30 years, have been rewarding the best producers on the planet, from small artisans to big brands.

 

For the 32nd edition the record of 3,500 cheeses will be exceeded, with the presence of new producing nations, such as Japan, Barbados, Thailand and Taiwan.
