IL CIBO DIPINTO – PAINTED FOOD

Descrizione

The exhibition "Il Cibo Dipinto - Painted Food" with paintings from Lombard and private museums ranging from the seventeenth to the twentieth century is open until January 28th at the Civic Museum "Goffredo Bellini" in Asola: the paintings selected for the exhibition by the exhibition’s curators Gianluca Bottarelli, Vincenzo Denti and Mario Amedeo Lazzari, propose to the visitor a path that highlights the indivisible bond throughout the centuries between art and gastronomic culture.

Of the 28 paintings on display, 19 come from the Ala Ponzone Civic Museum in Cremona, such as the paintings by Boselli, Todeschini, Crivellino, Pianca, Martire Alberti, Longhi, Longoni, Landriani and Rizzi, while others are on loan from private collectors.

In addition to the exhibition there will be many food-inspired events, to enrich Asola and its museum, the cultural, artistic and enogastronomic heritage of the area, encourage tourism and involve schools.

The VIRGILIO TOURIST GUIDES in collaboration with the Municipality of Asola organise guided tours of the exhibition and the Asola Cathedral (minimum number of participants for the guided tour: 10 people)
