Descrizione

Get ready, because many events have been organised simultaneously throughout all of Lombardy’s capitals, including reading, guided tours, degustations and shows. You’ll be spoiled for choice!

For the occasion, Bergamo is launching a series of breathtaking initiatives that from 6pm-11pm will vivify both the upper and lower towns. The anticipation begins in the morning but from 6pm onwards the party is unmissable. 

Bergamo with open doors is the name chosen for the evening, characterised by the desire to welcome people and to open the doors to proudly showcase the wonders of our city.

Curated by the Educational Services of GAMeC and the Accademia Carrara of Bergamo.

The book by Simona Bodo, Silvia Mascheroni and Maria Grazia Panigada addresses narration as the key to cultural heritage mediation and a resource for active citizenship.

The presentation, conducted by Maria Grazia Panigada together with Emanuela Daffra and Giovanna Brambilla, will be followed by a series of narrations by museum mediators at GAMeC and Accademia Carrera, there will also be a free training workshop.

THE HUMAN STRING VIOLIN reading and interpretation by Tiziano Manzini (Pandemonium Theatre)

A 20-minute reading with recorded music. The practically unknown text by Antonio Ghislanzoni (the AIDA author from Lecco, but who also lived in Bergamo), transports us, thanks to this fantastic almost horror-tinted story, to the time when the virtuosity of the great violinist Nicolò Paganini sparked infinite envy in other musicians, to the extent that they accused him of making “pacts with the devil”.

THE OROBIANS

An important band in the Italian music scene, The Orobians have been specializing in Ska Jazz since 1997.

They released their first album in November 2000 and in December of the same year they reached number 1 in the Radio Popolare charts.

The band plays regularly in Italy, France and Eastern Europe and have been the opening band for The Trojans, The Skatalites and Manu Chao.

Their recordings have been used as theme tunes for programs on Rai 2 and Rai 3.

In 2015 they began a successful collaboration with Bergamasco singer Giulia Spallino, leading to the release of a new EP.

The second edition of “Sustainable Dinner” is the main event of “Sustainability Week”. This is a dinner where everything from the food to the transportation used to reach the location as well as the lighting and furnishings embraces the theme of sustainability.

The purpose of the event is to approach life as “eco” as possible. Some simple actions can improve everyday life for all of us, for example, using the “mayor’s water”, using candlelight and eating km0 food. The menu will be strictly dedicated to the products from the East Lombardy provinces.

The upheavals, the dances and the masquerades of Bergamo city at the end of the eighteenth century with Max Brembilla.

Curated by the Prova Theatre in collaboration with the Bergamo in History Foundation, Il Campanaro (The Bell Ringer) is a historical fresco designed to bring the city’s visitors closer to the history of Bergamo in the eighteenth century and to find themselves amongst the real scenery, made up of monuments and historic buildings, views and shops, through the tales of Michele Bigoni, a bell ringer during the 1700s. The Civic Tower, better known as the Campanone or Bell Tower of Piazza Vecchia, is still present in Bergamo life with its 100 chimes.
