Fugasì, the traditional sweet farmer’s bread

Eight women and eight different B&Bs make up the Associazione Colline del Garda Ospitalità in Monzambano, Mantua, welcoming guests into the family with recipes from the past.

The protagonist of the territory’s breakfast is fugasì, a kind of humble, sweet bread, typical of farmer’s breakfasts, made with flour, sugar, lard and eggs, toasted on the wood stove. If well preserved, it can last several days. Excellent with artisan jams, the fugasì can also be enjoy paired with the territory’s excellent cheeses.

The EAsT Lombardy breakfast is inspired by tradition and is presented as a rich SWEET-SAVOURY BUFFET
